cocoAspell is Mac OS X implementation of Aspell -- A more intelligentIspell -- that is being developed by Kevin Atkinson. Here is a briefsnippet of how Kevin describes Aspell on his web site: Aspell is an OpenSource spell checker designed to eventually replace Ispell. Its mainfeature is that it does a much better job of coming up with possiblesuggestions than Ispell does. In fact recent tests shows that it evendoes better than Microsoft Word 97's spell checker or just about anyother spell checker I have seen. It also has support for checking(La)TeX and HTML files, and run time support for other non Englishlanguages. By default the cocoAspell package comes only with the English dictionarythat contains American, British, and Canadian variations. To spell checka document in another language you may have to download, compile, andinstall the corresponding spelling dictionary.
